We are so blessed to have Dr Mark Miravalle, Professor of Theology and Mariology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, host this new inspirational series on AirMaria entitled Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, & Advocate, which will present and explain these roles of Mary to help prepare the way for a possible definition of the 5th Marian Dogma.

In this first episode Dr. Mark clearly explains Our Blessed Lady’s role as Coredemptrix by first underscoring what Coredemptrix does not mean i.e. that she is not God, that she is not equal with Jesus, and that she is not the Fourth person of the Blessed Trinity.

We hope you will enjoy watching this series as much as we did filming it. We also hope that this series will help to dispel all the many misconceptions and misunderstandings of Our Blessed Lady’s role in the salvation of the human race and inspire you to greater love of Mary and her Son, Jesus.

This is our second interview with Fr. Don Calloway, MIC, which our Roving Reporter, Friar Roderic Mary, was able to shoot in Steubenville, Ohio, whilst on our recent Airmaria field trip. Fr. Don Callowayis the Director of Vocations for the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. He has written two books on Mary and several CDs and DVDs and has participated in our International Symposium on Marian Coredemption.

This week’s interview is on Our Lady and how her role as Coredeemer is central to making sense of our greatest concern today, Suffering.

Congratulations to Archbishop Raymond Burke

Congratulations to Archbishop Raymond Burke for his appointment as a member of the Congregation of the Causes of Saints.

Diane at Te Deum Laudamus and her commenters has compiled a list of the many responsibilities given to Bishop Burke since going to Rome. Here is the list:

June 2008: Appointed as Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura

October 7, 2008: Appointed President of the Commission for Advocates
October 19, 2009: Appointed a member of the Congregation for Bishops
July 6, 2010: Appointed a member of the Congregation for Divine Worship
July 26, 2010: Appointed a member of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints

The story was also picked up by Patrick Madrid and Thomas Peters both of whom agree with Diane that this flies in the face of some dissenting Catholics who suggest that he was moved to Rome to silence his orthodox views. Not only is this not the case but he is a prime candidate for Cardinal.

La Crosse – Marian Symposium

If you wish to congratulate him personally on his latest appointment, he will be coming on August 21st to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI which he was instrumental in having built while he was the bishop there. The occasion will be the 2010 Marian Symposium, MARY: COREDEMPTRIX, MEDIATRIX, ADVOCATE presented by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici:
