Well, you guessed correctly, AirMaria.com is finally venturing into the Podcasting arena and breathing new life into all of those iPods, Zunes, Blackberries, MP3 Players, and anything else out there that can play MP3 audio files (the link above is just for an example but if you click on it you will hear a sample of the beautiful Gregorian Chant sung by the Garrepy Family Choir at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, Griswold, CT, on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes during the celebration of the Extraordinary form of the Mass on February 11th 2009)

New Catholic radio station launches in Southern Tier

The first radio station in the U.S. owned and operated by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate has taken to the airwaves in the Syracuse Diocese.

The station, called Holy Virgin Mary Radio, can be found at 91.9 FM and is transmitting out of Barton, N.Y. The station is run from the Friars’ Mount St. Francis Hermitage in Maine, N.Y. and from the Franciscan Friary in Griswold, Conn.

Congratulations to Archbishop Raymond Burke

Congratulations to Archbishop Raymond Burke for his appointment as a member of the Congregation of the Causes of Saints.

Diane at Te Deum Laudamus and her commenters has compiled a list of the many responsibilities given to Bishop Burke since going to Rome. Here is the list:

June 2008: Appointed as Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura

October 7, 2008: Appointed President of the Commission for Advocates
October 19, 2009: Appointed a member of the Congregation for Bishops
July 6, 2010: Appointed a member of the Congregation for Divine Worship
July 26, 2010: Appointed a member of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints

The story was also picked up by Patrick Madrid and Thomas Peters both of whom agree with Diane that this flies in the face of some dissenting Catholics who suggest that he was moved to Rome to silence his orthodox views. Not only is this not the case but he is a prime candidate for Cardinal.

La Crosse – Marian Symposium

If you wish to congratulate him personally on his latest appointment, he will be coming on August 21st to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI which he was instrumental in having built while he was the bishop there. For the introduction to our Symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010, Fr. Peter Fehlner, Mariologist and rector of the shrine, gives a formal introduction to the symposium. He explains the title of the symposium “Mother of the Church” and what it means to call Mary this, relating it to the 8th Chapter of Lumen Gentium of Vatican II and the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe and then gives a logical outline of the upcoming talks and how they relate to the prerogatives of Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate.

Drew Mariani of Relevant Radio was MC of the symposium.

Dr. Mark Miravalle gives the third talk called “Now is the Time for the Fifth Dogma” for our symposium “Mother of the Church” on Marian Coredemption in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 21, 2010. Here he gives an amazingly compact run down of pretty much everything about this doctrine. He covers the other Marian doctrines that where proclaimed before Coredemption and how these relate it. He explains, what the doctrine contains, what it means for us, what it does not mean, its importance, its status in regard to becoming a dogma, mentions that virtually every saint, pope, and approved apparition of Mary in the last one hundred years supports the doctrine. He also answers common objections. Whew! all in less than an hour. Listening to this talk is time well spent if you want a thorough understanding of Mary Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate or, in other words, Mother of all Peoples, Mother of the Church. Enjoy!

Alveda King of Priests for Life came to Malden, Mass on Friday, Sept 17, 2010 and gave an inspirational talk at the Eternal Life Radio Breakfast for Clergy and Community Leaders on the connection between the civil rights movement, so ably lead by her late uncle Martin Luther King, and the right to life movement. She asks, “How Can the Dream Survive if we murder our Children?” She highlights the evidence that abortionist are racists and focus their deadly business on the poor and minorities. She plays a YouTube video of a movie trailer on this subject called Maafa 21. And then another trailer Blood Money on how abortionists try to increase number of abortions for the sake of more money. She also plays a music video of one of her songs and then a video by Randy Albright Let Me Live from his album “A Musical Celebration of Life”
