MY PEACE I GIVE TO YOU !

In the mouth of our Lord the ordinary Jewish greeting takes on its deepest meaning, because peace was one of the Messianic gifts par excellence. When bidding farewell to somebody who had done some good, our Lord often said: Go in peace.

He entrusts a mission of peace to his disciples. Whatever house you enter, first say: Peace be to this house. To desire peace for others and to foster it in our surroundings is a great human good, and when it is inspired by charity, it is also a great supernatural good.

When our soul is at peace it is a clear sign that God is close to us; besides it is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, St Paul frequently exhorted the first Christians to live peaceful and happy lives: agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

True peace is the result of holiness, the result of the struggle not to allow our love to be smothered by our disordered tendencies and our sins. When we love God, the soul is like a good tree, which is known by its fruits. Our actions reveal the presence of the Paraclete, and, insofar as they cause spiritual joy, they are called fruits of the Holy Spirit. One of these fruits is the peace of God, which passes all understanding, the true peace that Christ desired for the Apostles and for Christians of every era.

When God comes to you, you will feel the truth of these greetings: My peace I give to you … , peace I leave you … , peace be with you … , and you will feel it even in the midst of troubles. St Augustine describes true peace as tranquility in order, order between God and ourselves, order within ourselves and order in our relationships with others.

If we live that threefold order we will have peace, and we will transmit peace to others. Order towards God means that we are firmly determined to root all sin out of our lives and to center everything in Christ. Our Lord has entrusted to us the task of bringing peace to the world, starting by having peace in our own souls, and then in our family and place of work.

Sowers of peace and joy.

Christ is our peace. For twenty centuries he has been saying to us: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. He wants each of us to proclaim this to the whole world, by the way we live; to the world in which we live, even if at times it may seem rather small. The life of the first Christians helped many to discover the meaning of their existence. They brought peace to their families and to the society in which they lived.

In many inscriptions from that period we find greetings with which they desire peace to others. This peace – which is from God – will be found on earth as long as there are men and women of good will. Remembering that we are children of God will give us that solid peace, which isn’t disturbed by the ups and downs of our emotions or the events of the day: it will give us the serenity and steadiness which we need so much.

To ensure that we are open and friendly to everyone, we need to stamp out any kind of antipathy or animosity; it would indicate that we were not very supernatural in our dealings with others. We also need to fight against any roughness or sharpness in our character which could upset others and would indicate that we are not sufficiently mortified. We need to fight against selfishness and against love of comfort. These are serious obstacles to friendship and to effectiveness in the apostolate.

Let us have recourse to Mary, our Mother, so that we may never lose our joy and our serenity. Mary is the Queen of Peace, and thus the Church invokes her: So when your soul or your family are troubled, or things go wrong at world, in society or between nations, cry out to her without ceasing. Call to her by this title: ‘Regina Pacis, ora pro nobis! (Queen of Peace, pray for us) Have you at least tried it when you have lost your calm? You will be surprised at its immediate effect,

Consecration to the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, Divine Spirit of light and the love I consecrate to you my understanding, heart, and will, my whole being, for time and for eternity. May my understanding be always submissive to your heavenly inspirations and to the teaching of the Catholic Church, of which you are the infallible Guide. May my heart be ever inflamed with the love of God and of my neighbor. May my will be ever conformed to the Divine Will. May my whole life be faithful to the imitation of the life and virtues of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom with the Father and You be honor and glory forever.

God, Holy Spirit, Infinite Love of the Father and the Son, through the pure hands of Mary, Your Immaculate Spouse, I place myself this day, and all the days of my life, upon your chosen altar, the Divine Heart of Jesus, as a sacrifice to you, consuming fire, being firmly resolved now more than ever to hear Your voice and to do in all things Your most holy and adorable will.

For the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Blessed Spirit of Wisdom, Help me to seek God. Make Him the center of my life and order my life to Him, so that love and harmony may reign in my soul.

Blessed Spirit of Understanding, enlighten my mind, that I may know and love the truths of faith and make them truly my own.

Blessed Spirit of Counsel, enlighten and guide me in all my ways, that I may know and do Your holy Will. Make me prudent and courageous.

Blessed Spirit of Fortitude, uphold my soul in every time of trouble or adversity. Make me loyal and confident.

Blessed Spirit of Knowledge, help me to know good from evil. Teach me to do what is right in the sight of God. Give me clear vision and firmness in decision.

Blessed Spirit of Piety, possess my heart, incline it to a true faith in You, to a holy love of You, my God, that with my whole soul I may seek You, Who are my Father, and I find You, my best, my truest joy.

Blessed Spirit of Holy Fear, penetrate my inmost heart that I may be mindful of Your presence. Make me fly from sin, and give me intense reverence for God and for my fellow men who are made in God’s image.

Come Holy Spirit, Creator blest! And in our souls take up Your rest; Come with Your grace and heavenly aid, To fill the hearts which you have made.

O Comforter, to you do we cry, O heavenly Gift of God Most High; O Fount of life and Fire of love, And sweet Anointing from above!

Hail, holy Queen enthroned above, O Maria.

Hail, Queen of mercy and of love, O Maria.

Triumph, all ye cherubim,

Sing with us, ye seraphim,

Heaven and earth resound the hymn:

Salve, salve, salve Regina!

+

Our life, our sweetness, here below,O Maria!

Our hope in sorrow and in woe, O Maria!

Triumph, all ye cherubim,

Sing with us, ye seraphim,

Heaven and earth resound the hymn:

To thee we cry, poor sons of Eve, O Maria!

To thee we sigh, we mourn, we grieve, O Maria!

Triumph, all ye cherubim,

Sing with us, ye seraphim,

Heaven and earth resound the hymn:

Salve, salve, salve Regina!

Turn then most gracious Advocate, O Maria!

Toward us thine eyes compassionate, O Maria!

Triumph, all ye cherubim,

Sing with us, ye seraphim,

Heaven and earth resound the hymn:

Salve, salve, salve Regina!

The cause of joy to men below, O Maria!

The spring through which all graces flow, O Maria!

Angels, all your praises bring,

Earth and heaven, with us sing,

All creation echoing:

Salve, salve, salve Regina!

Pope Pius XII wrote at the end of his encyclical on the Mystical Body:

We have without hesitation consecrated all mankind to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. May she, the most holy Mother of all members of Christ, radiant now, body and soul in heaven, and gloriously reigning with her Son, earnestly implore of Him, that mighty streams of grace may ceaselessly flow from the majestic Head upon all members of the Mystical Body.

Scriptural Rosary Meditation on the Fifth Glorious Mystery: The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth+THE CORONATION OF MARY

Mary is crowned Queen of the angels and saints in heaven. Queen of the Holy Rosary, Queen of Peace, Queen of Apostles, Queen of Prophets. How many titles have been given to the Mother of the Incarnation of the Word! Not only is she proclaimed as the new Eve, and Mother of the Church, she is also given a prominent position in the salvation and redemption of the world. Her soul magnifies the Lord, all nations shall call her blessed. Her glorious coronation in heaven, is our hope

Prayer Intention

Let us offer this mystery then for Mary’s intentions. Her intercession, her constant appearances, her role as Mediatrix of graces. Let us pray that her efforts on our behalf, her efforts to lead all her children back to her Son, will not be impeded. We pray also, to God, The Father, in thanksgiving for Mary’s presence, for her role, for her help. We pray in thanksgiving that she is.

Our Father…

1. God who is mighty, has done great things for me. (Lk. 1:49)
Hail Mary….

2. My heart overflows with a goodly theme; as I sing my ode to the king. (Ps. 45:2)
Hail Mary….

3. Fairer in beauty are you than the sons of men; grace is poured out upon your lips; thus God has blessed you forever. (Ps. 45:3)
Hail Mary….

4. Because of this gift of sublime grace, She far surpasses all creatures, both in heaven and on earth. (Vat. II, Constit. of Ch. 53)
Hail Mary….

5. I am the rose of Sharon, I am the lilly of the valleys. (Song 2:1)
Hail Mary….

6. So now, 0 children, listen to me; instruction and wisdom do not reject.
(Prov. 8:32-33)
Hail Mary…

7. The Lord chose Her. He chose Her before She was born. (Div. off.)
Hail Mary….

8. Entirely holy, and free from all stain of sin. (Constit. of Ch. 56)
Hail Mary….

9. Freely cooperating in the work of human salvation through faith and obedience (Constit. of Ch. 56)
Hail Mary….

10. Blessed are you, daughter; by the Most High God, above all the women on earth. (Judith 13:18)
Hail Mary….

Glory be to the Father…
O My Jesus, forgive us our sins…

October 7th: Our Lady of the Rosary
Feast of the Holy Rosary

The feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Saint Pius V on the anniversary of the naval victory won by the Christian fleet at Lepanto, October 7, 1571. The victory was attributed to the help of the holy Mother of God whose aid was invoked through praying the Rosary. The celebration of this day invites all to mediate upon the mysteries of Christ, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary who was so singularly associated with the incarnation, passion and glorious resurrection of the Son of God.

Our Lady Of The Holy Rosary  Novena Prayer

My dearest Mother Mary, behold me, your child, in prayer at your feet. Accept this Holy Rosary, which I offer you in accordance with your requests at Fatima, as a proof of my tender love for you, for the intentions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in atonement for the offenses committed against your Immaculate Heart, and for this special favor which I earnestly request in my Rosary Novena:  (Mention your request).

I beg you to present my petition to your Divine Son. If you will pray for me, I cannot be refused. I know, dearest Mother, that you want me to seek God’s holy Will concerning my request. If what I ask for should not be granted, pray that I may receive that which will be of greater benefit to my soul.

I offer you this spiritual “Bouquet of Roses” because I love you. I put all my confidence in you, since your prayers before God are most powerful. For the greater glory of God and for the sake of Jesus, your loving Son, hear and grant my prayer. Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation.

Pope John Paul II asks us to pray the Rosary (October 16, 2002), Pope John Paul II issued Rosarium Virginis Mariae – Apostolic Letter on Rosary of the Virgin Mary. He declared October 2002 October 2003 The Year of the Rosary, and added Mysteries of Light that focus on events of Christ’s ministry.

On September 30, 2001, after the morning Mass opening the Synod of Bishops, Pope John Paul II asked people to pray the Rosary. Here is his message:

“October is the month in which Mary Most Holy, Queen of the Holy Rosary, is venerated. Within the current international context, I invite all — individuals, families, communities — to pray this Marian prayer, possibly every day, for peace, so that the world can be preserved from the wicked scourge of terrorism.

“The terrible tragedy of September 11th will be remembered as a dark day in the history of humanity. In the face of this, the Church tries to be faithful to her prophetic charism and remind all men about their duty to build a future of peace for the human family. Certainly, peace is not separated from justice, but it must be nourished by mercy and love.
“We cannot forget that Jews, Christians and Muslims adore God as the only God. The three religions, therefore, have the vocation of unity and peace. May God allow the Church’s faithful to be agents of peace, in the front line of the search for justice and the prohibition of violence.
“May the Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, intercede for all humanity, so that hate and death never have the last word!”
