The swearing in of a Democratically-controlled Congress in 2006 was a setback for the Culture of Life. Today’s public assault against the virtue of chastity and the sanctity of family life began in 1965 with the Supreme Court case of Griswold vs. Connecticut that legalized contraception. Ever since then, emotions have trumped right reason in the public discourse. Without a total conversion of our own hearts, others will never see the light of truth, and the slaughter of innocents, the trivializing of sexuality, and the emptiness of our cultural experience will continue. In this program, Fr. Angelo and Corinn touch on all the consequences of electing a party whose foundation rests on the principles of the Culture of Death.

Hello-Hola-Bonjour-Buon Giorno, etc. Do you believe that the U.S. can have a pro-life victory this year (or sooner) and spread the good news throughout the world, through pro-life media reform? I do. The Friars are working for this, too. How do I connect with them? The Franciscans of the Immaculate offer Holy Mass at our Motherhouse (www.sistersofcharity.com) and, as you can see, we still work together. I teach Spanish at our all girls’ high school (www.ahfbaltic.org); “direct” the drama–we will do the musical Oliver! this fall; and–joy of joys–moderate our pro-life club, which the students named T.O.P.-Life Club. They have posted wonderful highway billboards in Southeastern Connecticut in the pro-life fight and we now host Pro-Life Coffee Houses to help fund the billboards. What shall we discuss in this BLOG?…any of these topics, and more–the reform of the media is my favorite, so that the message of pro-family, pro-life will infiltrate our society and transform it, just as the not-so-beneficial influences have influenced us to date. Mary is the reason we have hope, she is the reason I am a Sister, and she is the way and the answer to media reform. I look forward to hearing from you (or y’all, as some of my favorite people say), and I ask Mary to send you powerful prayers, as I hope for yours. God’s causes cannot fail, and through her intercession, they succeed faster!

Dr. Paul Byrne referring to his book Life, Life Support, and Death talks about another aspect of Pro-life, the end of life. Dr. Byrne as a neonatologists, and father of 12 children and grandfather of 27 knows the medical and practical aspects of the beginning of life. From his experience of saving babies that were actually declared brain dead he started to study the issue and discovered there is no such thing as brain death. This term was invented to enable transplantation of major organs, that is, to create a supply of organs. But here is the catch, ‘brain dead’ patients are not dead until the removal of their major organs kill them. He also points out that many patients who are declared brain dead can be saved and live a normal life. Come listen to this startling video and decide for yourself if the practice of donating major organs is morally sound.

Last night (Sunday 4th November, 07) was the end of the official 40 Days for Life Campaign outside of the Abortion Mill at 12 Case St Norwich, CT. I say official end because the 40 Days for Life Campaign has re-energised the Pro-Life movement across the United States and most of the people involved are resolved to continue to witness for life outside numerous abortion facilities across the United States praying for God to put an end to this heinous crime.

Corinn Dahm was one of the organisers for the 40 Days for Life here in Norwich, CT, and she had a few words to say during this beautiful, prayerful, vigil which ended at midnight. I say a few words because those that know Corinn would find it hard to believe that she was stuck for words, but that is what happened during this interview. I had the kindness to edit it out for her, but not the kindness to keep it a secret!

We would like to personally thank, not only those who participated in the 40 Days for Life here in Norwich, but to all those thousands of people throughout the United States who prayed in front of the abortion mills, and to those who also prayed and fasted and offered up sacrifices to God to end abortion in our country.

We ask you to continue to pray for an end to abortion and to pray for those who cannot speak for themselves!
