St. Louis emphasized that devotion to Mary is compatible with being centered on Christ and Mary in union with her Son will crush the head of Satan.

“At one point I began to question my devotion to Mary, believing that, if it became too great, it might end up compromising the supremacy of the worship owed to Christ.  At that time, I was greatly helped by a book by Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort…

There I found the answers to my questions, Yes, Mary does bring us closer to Christ; she does lead us to him, provided that we live her mystery in Christ… The author was an outstanding theologian.  His Mariological thought is rooted in the mystery of the Trinity and in the truth of the Incarnation of the Word of God”...

“As is well known, (in) my episcopal coat of arms … the motto Totus tuus is inspired by the teaching of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort.  These two words express total belonging to Jesus through Mary: “Tuus totus ego sum, et omnia mea tua sunt.” (“I am all Yours, and all that I have is Yours.”) . . . “This Saint’s teaching has had a profound influence on the Marian devotion of many of the faithful and on my own life.”

In today’s homily (Monday of the Six Week of Easter, May 27, 2019), Fr. Andre relates Our Lord’s warning in the Gospel to the present day: “They will expel you from the synagogues; in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering worship to God.”

Schools that are Catholic in name but secular in teaching can kill the souls of the children entrusted to them. Parents have a responsibility to proactively demand fidelity to Catholic principles, in word and in action, from Catholic schools, and should be prepared for the backlash.

On the memorial of St. Barnabas the Apostle (Jun 11, 2019), Fr. Andre relates Barnabas’ apostolic witness to the task Our Lord has given each of us: to be the “light of the world.”

Father specifies how we can most effectively accomplish our mission: through devotion to Mary, who brings us closer to Our Eucharistic Lord.  Only through the faithful Eucharistic-Marian way of life will be sufficiently nourished, fortified, enlightened and inspired to engage in the New Evangelization: giving Jesus to the world through Mary.
