This is a new high quality feature length movie of the life of St. Bernadette that has an interesting twist. All the actors are kids! It is professionally produced by Navis Films which is starting a whole new genre of films called “Children’s Cinema”.

Just a very quick word about our purpose:

Western Civilization is declining, our culture is crumbling, and it will be up to our children and our children’s children to help save it. The arts comprise a hugely influential component of that culture. If we can inspire one child to take up a career in those arts, and to create stunning beauty so as to lift men’s souls toward God, and in doing so glorify Him, we will have succeeded. To that end we are creating an entirely new genre of film: Children’s Cinema. St. Bernadette of Lourdes features a cast of over 100 mostly home-schooled, Catholic children ranging from 3 to 17 years of age. The FIs in Italy have finished their first trailer for the feature length film Duns Scoto on the life of Blessed John Duns Scotus that we mentioned in an earlier post. It is more of a behind-the-scenes view of the making of the movie.  All the actual footage of the movie is raw with the time stamp running. But it powerfully shows the magnitude of the project and how beautiful and dramatic the finished edition will be. Yes, it is in Italian. We hope to get an English subtitled version out soon. Enjoy!

Yes, we did win the ‘Silver Fish Award’ at the Vatican’s International Catholic Film Festival in the categories of Best Film, and Best Actor/Actress. This is for the feature length motion picture titled “Duns Scoto” on the life of Bl. John Duns Scotus that the FI’s in Italy produced in conjunction with TVCO. Not bad for our first feature length video. Well done Fr. Alfonso Bruno and team! Deo Gratias!

The movie For Greater Glory, The True Story of the Cristiada will come out on June 1st. It is based on the true the story of the Cristeros War (1926-1929) where the Mexican Catholic people rebelled against the anti-Catholic government who made the celebration of Mass a capital offense. They had the motto “Viva Cristo Rey!” Long Live Christ the King! The movie has an impressive cast with the Academy Award Nominees, Andy Garcia, Peter O’Toole,  and Catalino Sandino Moreno. It seems to be a well made movie by an up-and-coming production company, New Land Films, who are unafraid to tell the untold story of the persecution of Catholics in our modern times.

“Passion of the Christ” star Jim Caviezel told CNA that he relied on scripture, daily Mass and the rosary to portray holiness on the big screen in “Paul, the Apostle of Christ.”

The film, which premieres March 23, depicts the persecution of the early Christians in Rome under Emperor Nero, along with an imprisoned Saint Paul conveying a message of hope at the end of his life.

“I thought that that was one of the greatest parts of the script,” Caviezel told CNA. “Here is a beat up old man in prison, facing execution. How can this man be a light to the world?”

“But it’s often through our struggles, our trials, our tragedies that triumph comes,” the Catholic actor said.

Caviezel plays the role of Saint Luke, who regularly visits Paul in prison to document his story while composing the Acts of the Apostles. The audience sees Luke serving the early Christian community in Rome as a physician, spiritual leader and writer.“

He [Luke] mentioned the Virgin Mary more than any other writer,” reflected Caviezel on portraying the Gospel evangelist, “I use the rosary to focus, to pray.”
