Ave Maria Meditations

Daily, Daily Sing to Mary

Daily, daily sing to Mary,
Sing, my soul, her praises due.
All her feasts, her actions worship
With the heart’s devotion true.
Lost in wond’ring contemplation,
Be her Majesty confess’d.
Call her Mother, call her Virgin,
Happy Mother, Virgin blest.

She is mighty to deliver.
Call her, trust her lovingly.
When the tempest rages round thee,
She will calm the troubled sea.
Gifts of heaven she has given,
Noble Lady, to our race.
She, the Queen, who decks her subjects
With the light of God’s own grace.

Sing, my tongue, the Virgin’s trophies
Who for us her Maker bore.
For the curse of old inflicted,
Peace and blessing to restore.
Sing in songs of peace unending,
Sing the world’s majestic Queen.
Weary not nor faint in telling.
All the gifts she gives to men.

At Fatima on May 12, 2010,

the Holy Father consecrated Priests in this Year for Priests to the Blessed Mother.

Immaculate Mother, in this place of grace, called together by the love of your Son Jesus the Eternal High Priest, we, sons in the Son and His priests, consecrate ourselves to your maternal Heart, in order to carry out faithfully the Father’s Will.

We are mindful that, without Jesus, we can do nothing good (cf. Jn 15:5) and that only through Him, with Him and in Him, will we be instruments of salvation for the world.

Bride of the Holy Spirit, obtain for us the inestimable gift of transformation in Christ. Through the same power of the Spirit that overshadowed you, making you the Mother of the Saviour, help us to bring Christ your Son to birth in ourselves too. May the Church be thus renewed by priests who are holy, priests transfigured by the grace of Him who makes all things new.

Mother of Mercy, it was your Son Jesus who called us to become like Him: light of the world and salt of the earth (cf. Mt 5:13-14). Help us, through your powerful intercession, never to fall short of this sublime vocation, nor to give way to our selfishness, to the allurements of the world and to the wiles of the Evil One.

Preserve us with your purity, guard us with your humility and enfold us with your maternal love that is reflected in so many souls consecrated to you, who have become for us true spiritual mothers.

Mother of the Church, we priests want to be pastors who do not feed themselves but rather give themselves to God for their brethren, finding their happiness in this. Not only with words, but with our lives, we want to repeat humbly, day after day, our “here I am”.

Guided by you, we want to be Apostles of Divine Mercy, glad to celebrate every day the Holy Sacrifice of the Altar and to offer to those who request it the sacrament of Reconciliation.

Advocate and Mediatrix of grace, you who are fully immersed in the one universal mediation of Christ, invoke upon us, from God, a heart completely renewed that loves God with all its strength and serves mankind as you did.

Repeat to the Lord your efficacious word: “They have no wine” (Jn 2:3), so that the Father and the Son will send upon us a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Full of wonder and gratitude at your continuing presence in our midst, in the name of all priests I too want to cry out: “Why is this granted me,  that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” (Lk 1:43).

Our Mother for all time, do not tire of “visiting us”,  consoling us, sustaining us. Come to our aid and deliver us from every danger that threatens us. With this act of entrustment and consecration, we wish to welcome you more deeply, more radically, forever and totally into our human and priestly lives.

Let your presence cause new blooms to burst forth in the desert of our loneliness, let it cause the sun to shine on our darkness, let it restore calm after the tempest, so that all mankind shall see the salvation of the Lord, who has the name and the face of Jesus, who is reflected in our hearts, forever united to yours.

Ave Maria Meditations

From True Devotion to Mary:

-Jesus gave more glory to God the Father by submission to His Mother during those thirty years than He would have given Him by converting the whole world by the working of the most stupendous miracles. Oh, how highly we glorify God when, to please Him, we submit ourselves to Mary after the example of Jesus Christ, our sole Exemplar.

-The Holy Ghost, the more He finds Mary His dear and inseparable spouse in any soul, the more active and mightly He becomes in that soul, and that soul in Jesus Christ..  He has chosen her (Mary) to be ethe dispenser of all…His gifts and graces. The Holy Ghost gives no heavenly gift to men which He does not have pass through her virginal hands.

-Our Lord is still, in Heaven,  as much the Son of Mary as He was on earth, and that, consequently, He has retained HIs obedience and submission of the most perfect Child toward the best of mothers.  Mary…asks nothing, wishes nothing, does nothing contrary to the eternal and immutable will of God.  God has empowered her and commissioned her to fill with saints the empty thrones from which the apostate angels fell by pride.

-In the supernatural and spiritual generation there are are Father, who is God, and a Mother, who is Mary. All the true children of God, the predestinate, have God for their Father and Mary for their Mother.

-Mary has produced, together with the Holy Ghost, the greatest the greatest thing which ever has been or will be: a God-man. And she will consequently produce the greatest saints that there will  be at the end of time. When the Holy Ghost has found Mary in a soul, He flies there.

-Mary is the Queen of Heaven and earth by grace as Jesus is King of them by nature.

-(Mary is) especially necessary to the great saints of the latter times.  These great saints, full of grace and zeal…shalle be singularly devout to our Blessed Lady…so that they shall fight with one hand and build with the other…They shall carry on their shoulders the bloody standard of the Cross,the Crucifix in their right hand and the rosary in their left, the sacred names of Jesus and Mary in their hearts, and the mortification and modesty of Jesus Christ in their own behavior.

-God has never made and formed but one emnity…between Mary, His worthy Mother, and the devil.

-God wishes His holy Mother at present to be more known, more loved, and more honored than she ever has been. It was through Mary that the salvation of the world has begun, and it is through Mary that it must be consummated…in the second coming of Jesus Christ, Mary has to be made and known by the Holy Ghost, in order that through her, Jesus Christ may be known, loved, and served. Being the way that Jesus Christ came to us the first time,  she will also be the way by which He will come the second time, but not in the same manner.

-He that shall find Mary shall find Life…that is Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Prayer To Mary:

Gentle Mother of God, full of grace, the Door of Heaven that is always open, through you may the eyes of God rest upon us.

In your goodness, help the needy; to those who hesitate, to the little ones, grant your assistance. Comfort the weak, protect the poor, walk with the abandoned. May the persecuted find in you consolation, and the persecutors, conversion and forgiveness.  Have mercy on all prisoners; spare them of all despondency of soul and sadness of heart.

Pray for all people; intercede for the bishops and priests, and for all consecrated souls. May all those who celebrate your memory rejoice in receiving your assistance. Lend an attentive ear to the prayers of all those who beseech you, and grant them the favor they seek.

Support by your constant intercession the holy people of God. Consecrate them in unity and in truth.

May we finally experience, Blessed Mother, the joy which flows from you, who was chosen to bear the price of mankind, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and God forever. Amen. Alleluia.

O predestinate souls, slaves of Jesus in Mary, learn that the Hail Mary is the most beautiful of all prayers after the Our Father. It is the most perfect compliment which you can give to Mary, because it is the compliment which the Most High sent her by an archangel in order to win her heart; and it was so powerful over her heart by the secret charms of which it is so full, that in spite of her profound humility she gave her consent to the Incarnation of the Word. It is by this compliment also that you will infallibly win her heart, if you say it as you ought.

The Hail Mary well said, that is with attention, devotion, and modesty is, according to the saints, the enemy of the devil which puts him to flight, and the hammer which crushes him. It is the sanctification of the soul, the joy of the angels, the melody of the predestinate, the canticle of the New Testament, the pleasure of Mary, and the glory of the most Holy Trinity. The Hail Mary is a heavenly dew which fertilizes the soul. It is the chaste and loving kiss which we give to Mary. It is a vermilion rose which we present to her; a precious pearl we offer her; a chalice of divine ambrosial nectar which we proffer to her. All these are comparisons of the saints.

I pray you urgently, by the love I bear you in Jesus and Mary, not to content yourselves with saying the Little Crown of the Blessed Virgin, but to say five decades, or even, if you have time, fifteen decades of the Rosary every day. At the moment of your death you will bless the day and the hour in which you followed my advice. Having thus sown in the blessings of Jesus and Mary, you will reap eternal blessings in Heaven. “He who soweth in blessings, shall also reap blessings.” (2 Cor. 9:6).

And Elizabeth cried out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?”

Enlightened interiorly by the Holy Spirit, Elizabeth recognized her young cousin as the Mother of God, and deeply moved, breaks forth into words of praise and admiration. Mary makes no protest but listens with simplicity, knowing well that this praise is not due to her, but solely to the Almighty, who has done great things in her. Immediately her humble heart by a spontaneous movement, refers all Elizabeth’s praises to God. “My soul doth magnify the Lord!”

O Mary, how great is your humility when you hasten to serve others! If it is true that he who humbles himself will be exalted, who will be more exalted than you who have humbled yourself so much. But your profound humility in no way lessened your magnanimity; the greatness of your soul was not opposed to your humility. You, so small in your own eyes, were so magnanimous in your faith, in your hope in the Most High, that you never doubted His promises, and firmly believed that you would the Mother of the Son of God. Humility did not make you fainthearted; magnanimity did not make you proud, but these two virtues were perfectly combined in you.

O Mary, you cannot give me a share in your great privileges as Mother of God; these belong to you alone. But you want me to share in your virtues, giving me examples of them in yourself. If sincere humility, magnanimous faith, and delicate, sympathetic charity are lacking in me, how can I excuse myself?  O Mary , O Mother of mercy, you who are full of grace, nourish us, your poor little ones, with your virtues!

Fr. Alan gives the homily at New Bedford on Monday 3rd Week of Easter (May 06), explaining how Our Lord instructs the crowd on what they should seek and how to obtain it. He is the King and sets the terms, and will reward His loyal subjects. However, while people want much from Jesus, often they aren’t willing to surrender to Him on His terms, and risk losing out on the rewards only He can give.

Ave Maria!

May is almost here, and that means Mary! What special gift are you going to give Our Lady for her special month? Join Dr. Mark Miravalle for one great option.

In this episode, Dr. Mark Miravalle discusses the importance of proclaiming the truth about Mary, the mother of Jesus. He emphasizes that without knowing the full truth about Mary, one cannot fully appreciate and love her. He stresses that proclaiming Mary as the spiritual mother of all people, in her roles as co-redemptrix, mediatrix, and advocate, is crucial in addressing the challenges faced by the Church and the world. He presents seven reasons why:
1) it would bring a historic release of grace;
2) it would complete the Marian dogmas by defining Mary’s relationship with humanity;
3) it would proclaim the redemptive value of human suffering;
4) it would affirm the power and dignity of human freedom;
5) it would highlight the unique role of women and the feminine genius;
6) it would contribute to authentic Catholic ecumenism by clarifying Catholic beliefs about Mary; and
7) it is requested by Our Lady herself in various private revelations.
Dr. Miravalle urges viewers to pray for the proclamation of the fifth Marian dogma, to send petitions to Pope Francis, and to spread awareness about the importance of this dogma. He recommends praying the prayer of the Lady of All Nations and encourages viewers to reach out for prayer cards if needed. The segment concludes with a prayer for the intentions and a call to action to support the fifth Marian dogma.
