40 Days for Life returns this fall! At least 500 tiny humans were spared due to the prayer, fasting, and witness last year. What efforts could we not spare to get this beautiful work better known?

Introduction

1. The dignity of a person must be recognized in every human being from conception to natural death. This fundamental principle expresses a great “yes” to human life and must be at the center of ethical reflection on biomedical research, which has an ever greater importance in today’s world. The Church’s Magisterium has frequently intervened to clarify and resolve moral questions in this area. The Instruction Donum vitae was particularly significant. And now, twenty years after its publication, it is appropriate to bring it up to date.

The teaching of Donum vitae remains completely valid, both with regard to the principles on which it is based and the moral evaluations which it expresses. However, new biomedical technologies which have been introduced in the critical area of human life and the family have given rise to further questions, in particular in the field of research on human embryos, the use of stem cells for therapeutic purposes, as well as in other areas of experimental medicine. These new questions require answers.

Susan Boyce outlines the hidden horrors of the latest National Health Care Bill, HR 3590. She covers the fact that 1000 pages have been added to the bill just since the summer. Now is 2074 pages, 2.5 trillion cost over ten years,  mandatory visitation of government officials to your homes, massive increase in family health care costs in very high taxes. For all US employees an abortion premium will be charged that goes diectly to the procurement of abortions. Also the head of Health and Human Services, currently pro-abortion Kathleen Sabelius, will have carte blanche powers to make changes to the plan with no recourse for the people to protest. Rationing by denial of care to long term or elderly patients, realtime access to bank accounts in, requirements to. Why, based on Catholic measures, the whole thing needs to be scrapped because of its neglect of Catholic principles of whether the Stupac Amendment is added or not and how the Catholic bishops and the USCCB are the only ones that can make this happen. He covers the messages given on March 30,  1958 to Sr. Mary Ephrem. Fr. Angelo relates how Mary and Joseph did, in fact, experience grief but they did not despair nor where they completely ignorant of the meaning of Christ’s staying in the Temple contrary to modern Bible scholars. Father explains the purpose of Human knowledge as it relates to faith and to the apparitions of Mary at Fatima from whence the First Saturday Devotions come, where she tells us to offer up our suffering in reparation for the offense to her Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of our impious age.

He answers that there is life after death, but that marriage is not for the after life. Fr. Bonaventure takes these basic statements about marriage (where life begins) and death (where life ends) and preaches on the meaning and sanctity of human life. He mentions the reasons why God Created us, the relationship between God and man, and how Jesus and Mary is key to both of these and to attaining life everlasting.

Homily #111023 ( 11min) Play – Fr. Bonaventure preaches on the need for seeking the truth and to love Him who is Truth.  He bases this on the gospel where Our Lord tells the sincere Pharisee that the greatest commandment is:

“You shall love the Lord, your God,
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and the first commandment.
The second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Father describes the three fold love that this encompasses:

1. Love of God
2. Correct love of self
3. Love of Neighbor

1. Reject all idols, God is our final goal and object of our love.
2. Earthly goods are only good to the extent that we use them as means to grow closer to God
3. Make this Love of God prominent in our lives especially above all considerations of human respect.
