Ave Maria!

The swearing in of a Democratically-controlled Congress in 2006 was a setback for the Culture of Life. Today’s public assault against the virtue of chastity and the sanctity of family life began in 1965 with the Supreme Court case of Griswold vs. Connecticut that legalized contraception. Ever since then, emotions have trumped right reason in the public discourse. Without a total conversion of our own hearts, others will never see the light of truth, and the slaughter of innocents, the trivializing of sexuality, and the emptiness of our cultural experience will continue. In this program, Fr. Angelo and Corinn touch on all the consequences of electing a party whose foundation rests on the principles of the Culture of Death.

This exciting video of Doug Barry’s Radix Boot Camp has been edited from footage captured a the last Knights and Squires Encampment in Griswold Connecticut, held last Fall. We will be running the Encampment and Boot Camp again on the Weekend of May 23-25. Doug will not be there, but we hope to have him come for the Fall Encampment.

It is a celebration of the establishment of the Franciscans in Griswold and has been the celebration of each step of the completion of our facilities here, including the Lourdes Grotto 1994, the Friary 2000, the Dedication of the Chapel 2001 and the dedication of St. Joseph’s Chapel 2003. Listen as Father explains the need for thanksgiving and for making Our Lady the Queen of our nation, culture and personal lives as the best expression of our Catholic Faith, for it is Our Lord who chose her as His Queen-Mother, and we should imitate Him.

Ave Maria! This Friday, Oct 31, 2008, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Friary in Griswold, CT is the annual All Saints Vigil Celebration. Children are encouraged to dress up as a Catholic saint. Mass begins at 6pm followed by games and the judging of the ‘saints’ – their costume and knowledge of their chosen saint.

Starting with Mass, then the saints contests under the big top and then the Siege of the Tower with water balloon battle and bonfire. No, we did not use the catapult ( the water balloons kept breaking and mini pumpkins were a bit too hard ) But every one had a good time nonetheless.
