On this Feast of Our Lady and after being operational for four months or so, Fr. Angelo Geiger gives the surprise announcement of our grand opening! That’s right, up to now we have not been offically open. It has all been for practice. He mentions the many new shows, our new three column web format that includes a new menu system in the left column. The dedication of the site to St. Clare, Patroness of TV and in honor of Patrick Wroe, son of David Wroe who’s help has been indispensable for Air Maria. He thanks all the many people who have supported Air Maria in so many ways.

Fr. Elias presents the 8th International Symposium on Marian Coredemption which is being held at Fatima July 17-19th by the Franciscans of the Immaculate in union with the Day with Mary apostolate in England. This year’s theme is Co-redemption as key to a correct understanding of Redemption. The symposium can be combined with a pilgrimage to Fatima from July 12-20

This symposium is part of one of our primary apostolates, promoting the Dogmatic declaration of Mary as Coredeemer, which this year will be combined with an initiative by Dr. Mark Miravalle at Vox Popoli to gather signatures for a petition to present to Pope Benedict XVI. This initiative was spear headed by over forty Bishops and Cardinals who believe we are in great need of Mary’s help. You can read the letter by Mark Miravalle about how you can submit your petition to the Holy Father and how these Bishops and Cardinals have already done so. And, you can see the book on the acts of a special symposium held on May 3rd to the 7th, 2005 in Fatima, Portugal led by these Cardinals and Bishops that the Franciscans of the Immaculate helped arrange and which led to this new petition initiative.

Elias Mary announces the Behold Your Mother Conference in Greenwood, IN on Oct. 13, 2007, which will be on the doctrine of Mary as Coredeemer, Mediatrix and Advocate and why it should be solemnly declared as a dogma. The conference will feature prominent, popular apologists such as Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. Mark Miravalle, Fr. Pablo Straub and many more. Archbishop Raymond Burke will be the main celebrant. The FI news team covered the pro Marriage Rally held at the Connecticut State Capital yesterday Morning which was organized by the Family Institute of CT. Over 300 people took time off work to give support for keeping the traditional definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. This is in spite of the fact that the bill to redefine marriage had already been defeated! The pro gay marriage group also had a gathering at the same time and only turned out about 16 people! This rally of families on a gloriously beautiful spring day was a great celebration of the defeat of this bill, and sent a powerful pro family message to the CT legislature and to National and State legislatures across the US. But prayers are still needed.

The AirMaria crew is on the road (en route to the Indiana friary to deliver our precious cargo of our own Fr. Elias Mary to his new posting) and we will be filming a host of various guests over the next few days.

Today we are in Steubenville, Ohio, and we had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Mark Miravalle, Professor of Theology and Marialogy at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, for a great new series he will be doing for Airmaria on Mary – Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate.

We hope to publish the first episode next week and here is a little teaser and promo for the series.

Once a year, the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate take the Good News to the streets, literally as it were, as they process Our Blessed Lord through New Bedford, Massachusetts, on the Feast of Corpus Christi. The procession begins downtown at Our Lady’s Chapel and winds through the city to 3 different churches before finishing again at the friar’s chapel. This year we had wonderful weather and a wonderful turnout of approximately 275 faithful souls.

This video condenses the 3+ hour procession down to 17 minutes and features beautiful music of the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration (Mother Angelica’s nuns), the Northern RI Sancte Ceciliae (a homeschool family from Rhode Island), and songs of benediction from the various churches we and Our Lord visited on our journey.

The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate with the ‘A Day With Mary’ group from Griswold, Ct went to Holy Name Parish in Providence, RI recently. Come see this video of this beautiful day long devotion to Our Lady full of pageantry and the Holy Sacraments in a gorgeous downtown parish.
