Homily #100112 ( 05min) Play – Today we celebrate the feast of Bl. Oderic of Portunaone who was a Franciscan priest who traveled all the way to China to preach the Gospel in the early 1300’s. Thus he lived the message in the Catechism on Paragraph 74 which teaches that God wants all men to be saved. This underscores today’s Gospel where Our Lord says:

The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few.  Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest.

Let us remember to pray for more missionary priests to reap this great harvest.

Homily #100114 ( 06min) Play – St. Hilary of Poitiers fought the heresy of Arianism in his time. He did this by being true to the Magisterium. As the Catechism says:

Par 85 “The task of giving an authentic interpretation of the Word of God, whether in its written form or in the form of Tradition, has been entrusted to the living teaching office of the Church alone. Its authority in this matter is exercised in the name of Jesus Christ.” This means that the task of interpretation has been entrusted to the bishops in communion with the successor of Peter, the Bishop of Rome.

This simple policy guarantees that we won’t fall into error of personal interpretation whether of scripture as the Protestants do or of Tradition as the ultra Traditionalists do.

Resolution:
Persevering with my prayer life not only helps with the problems of today but
will lead to good choices in the future. Today when I say my usual prayers I
will remember that I am laying a path of gold for my future and my family.
Nothing but profit comes from praying to God through Our Lady.

the blessing of Holy Father St. Francis.

Introduction

-Fr. Agnellus lays the foundation for his three talks by explaining that we need to learn about Our Lady because we cannot love someone we do not know.  In order to know Our Lady we need to be guided by grace through prayer.  He further sustains that in these times to remain faithful to Christ, according to the Gospel, one needs to live out true devotion to Our Lady.

1st Conference:  Why Mary? Why a Marian Age?

-“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Rev 2:7).  The message the Spirit is giving to the churches in this age is one on Our Lady.  Many approved Marian apparitions attest to this..  The Magisterium of the Church since Bl. Pius IX to the present day also confirms this. The testimony of the lives of the saints in relation to their spiritual growth due to the hands of Our Lady is prevalent.  Mary builds the kingdom of Christ in the “surest, swiftest, and easiest way.”  Fr. Agnellus then goes on to delve into the Bible in order to show where this idea comes from.

Homily #120318 ( 45min) Play – On this Laetare Sunday, Fr. Bonaventure preaches on today’s Gospel, starting with a question from the St. Pius X Catechism, which asks:

1. Q: Are you a Christian?
   A: Yes, I am a Christian, by the grace of God.
2. Q: Why do you say: By the grace of God?
   A: I say: By the grace of God, because to be a Christian is a perfectly gratuitous gift of God, which we ourselves could not have merited.
3. Q: Who is a true Christian?
   A: A true Christian is he who is baptized, who believes and professes the Christian Doctrine, and obeys the lawful pastors of the Church.

He explains that we must believe all that Christ taught, especially that He became flesh and died on the Cross for us so that we can have eternal life with Him for all eternity. For this we must be forever grateful and walk in His footsteps. Let us keep this in mind as we joyfully look forward to Easter.
