Bill O’Brien, President of Connecticut Right to Life talks about the very busy upcoming legislative session in Hartford. Mentions some pro-life legislation that they are trying to start. This includes a parental notification law for abortion for minors which CT is only one of six states that do not have one. It is easier to get an abortion in CT Schools without parental consent than it is to get Tylenol. This is very important even for the safety of the child in regard to prompt response to medical and emotional complications due to the abortion. And also important in regard to child sexual abuse being exposed. Ironically, this all points out that the Pro-abortion movement ends up being oppressive to women rather than Pro-choice.

On the defensive side he hopes to stop an education standards bill that will require all students to have comprehensive sex education (under the cover of “Health Education”) with no ability to opt out. He points out the very high rate of teen pregnancy and this after many years of sex education.

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Aug 25 on how the hypocritical disobedience of Church leaders does not justify our own disobedience. In the Gospel today Our Lord teaches on the evil of hypocrisy, which He applies to the religious leaders of His day. Father points to the expose in the Pennsylvania Grand Jury report for an example of such hypocrisy in our day. However Jesus does not tell his disciples to disobey the leaders, but rather to respect their authority since it comes from God, even if they are unworthy themselves. In fact, obedience is the best remedy for hypocrisy.

PANAMA CITY – Victims of violence, abuse, abortion, terrorism, natural disasters, human trafficking, forced migration and “many other signs of death and loneliness” were at the core of a Way of the Cross meditation led by Pope Francis on Friday in Panama’s coastal beltway with the ocean as the backdrop.In the face of such suffering, the pontiff held up the example of Mary.

“In Mary, we learn the strength to be able to say ‘yes’ to those who have refused to remain silent in the face of a culture of mistreatment and abuse, disparagement and aggression, and who work to provide opportunities and to create an atmosphere of safety and protection,” Francis said.

“In Mary, we learn how to welcome and take in all those abandoned, and forced to leave or lose their land, their roots, their families and their work,” he continued. “Like Mary, we want to be a Church that fosters a culture that welcomes, protects, promotes and integrates; that does not stigmatize, much less indulge in a senseless and irresponsible condemnation of every immigrant as a threat to society.”

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Jun 01, 2022, on the 6th Commandment as it applies to homosexuals and whether they are born that way, quoting from many clinical experts, links below.

He points out that this orientation is not sinful, but the activity is.

He cites research on twins and genetics that definitively establish that there is no scientific evidence that people are born gay.

He then sites research on environmental factors, including relationships with parents and peers and failure to bond with fellow males or females thereof, as well as trauma in youth from rejection or abuse.

The Church must do a better job to help them be accepted, but also help them get out of the victim mentality and seek the help they need.
