He said we can have DIRECT CONTACT with God, which differed from St. Thomas Aquinas who said we can only have mediated contact with God. Scotus is much more Biblical. Starting with “I am Who AM.” as his premise, Scotus concludes that God is Being, and our being contacts Him: Being to being. This has been wondrous for me in gaining a sense of God immanent in Nature, and Transcendent of Time and Space, and of Jesus sacramentally present in the consecrated Bread and Wine. I think Scotist philosophy is the parent of all Personalist philosophies.
