Francis Fernandez stated is absolute true and correct. This truth also applies and preach by the Holy Eastern Orthodox Church. The mystery of confession will bring the “brokenness of our souls by sinning” back to the “original state” of purity to the “image and likeness of God”. Confession brings us back to the Unity with God. This brings us to “wholeness and one with God”.
The words of Fr. Fernandez is are valuable. I quote his words again so that these words may sink in us so to make us “change”. This change is “repentence” or Metanoia in Greek.
Quoting Fr. Hernandez words.. “In the Sacrament of Penance man is reconciled with God and with the Church…In the intimate life of the Church – whose cornerstone is Christ – every member supports all the others his good works and merits, and is at the same time supported by them. when a Christian goes to Confession, the whole Church receives an incalculable benefit. Every time a priest pronounces the words of absolution, she rejoices and is mysteriously enriched, because every Confession, through the Communion of Saints, sends blessings which resound through the whole Mystical Body of Christ.”
May God bless us all.
