I never heard it explained that way…the Virgin Mary was testing the angel Gabriel and accepted the resulting sufferings and that she didn’t explain things to Joseph. Such trust in God. Holy Mother, pray for us.

Mary and Joseph must have known and studied and understood this well. Better than anyone what it s full meaning was.

So the question was what doubt did Joseph have. None other than a temptation by Satan which failed miserably.

Mary knew that her and Joseph were united to God in Soul and that God would convince Joseph personally with Grace that Isaiah was being fulfilled and to have no doubt. And we mention the word grace and what comes to mind , all Grace comes through Mary.

The link between Jesus Mary and Joseph was so strong that they didn’t even need to discuss it , it would be discussed for them and with them the supernatural way.
